Cosmotector XP-311

The Cosmotector XP-311 is a compact and lightweight dual sensitivity range combustible gas detector with automatic sampling pump. It detects the presence and indicates the concentration of combustible gases and vapours and can be used in almost all circumstances where such gases and vapours might be found.

Being light and compact, this instrument can be carried anywhere without effort and is quicker and easier to use than conventional types. A large, clear meter is provided, reading 0 to 100% LEL (high concentration range) and 0 to 10% LEL (low concentration range). A single multi-position switch turns the instrument on, checks battery voltage and selects the sensitivity range required. An integral extremely low power drain micro-pump provides a continuous, steady sample flow to give accurate and repetitive measurements. The standard model is calibrated in % LEL for LP gas (isobutane) and is provided with additional meter scales of 0 to 1.8% and 0 to 0.18% by volume. The instrument is direct reading for the gas used for calibration. Calibration for other specific gas is available on request. Pushbutton meter illumination is provided for testing at night or in basements, service tunnels and other poorly lit areas. A variety of probe accessories is available for use according to atmospheres to be tested. When remote sampling is not needed, the instrument may be used as a hand-held portable with standard probe attached direct to the sample intake. A set of 4 UM-3 (size AA) dry cell batteries gives up to 4 hours of continuous operation or 100 intermittent tests of 3 minutes duration each.

Special Models

Model XP-311A - this model has an integral alarm circuit. An intermittent tone sounds and a red LED lamp flashes if gas concentration exceeds the preset alarm level. When battery operating voltage drops below the required level, a steady tone sounds to indicate that the batteries require replacement. Other special Models - Model XP-311 can be supplied with an output for connection to a recorder unit. Model XP-311 A can be supplied with an output for connection to either or both of a recorder and a remote alarm signal unit.
