The power is saved dramatically, and the battery life is extended substantially for eg.: in the case of flammable gas type, the battery works for 48 hours (corresponding to a week if used 8 hours a day). In other gas types, the battery lasts as long as 2,000hours (or 250 days if used 8 hours a day, corresponding to a full year except for Sundays, if only the detector is used).
